South Coastal Animal Health and Acella Construction celebrate grand opening for new veterinary hospital

Weymouth, MA. (December 28, 2009)
South Coastal Animal Health is moving into a newly constructed and larger location to accommodate its growing business. Since opening the original location in 2006, South Coastal Animal Health has grown to accumulate 5,000 clients and has 18 staff members, including four doctors. An open house was held on Sunday December 13th to show off the facility. The new building, located at 1389 Main St. in Weymouth, opened on Dec. 7th. The 2 story, 7,900 s/f facility includes six new exam rooms, a new surgery suite, and an in-house X-ray suite, in addition to several doctors’ offices and a lounge area. Owner Dr. Grace Strake, who started the business in 2006, bought the land, which had been an abandoned lot for 20 years, in 2007.
“Acella Construction is very happy to have been able to work with Dr. Grace Strake and her team to build this project. This new building will give Dr. Strake the opportunity to service her growing client base in the most modern veterinary facility on the south shore,” said Saul Schrader, Project Manager for Acella Construction.
The project was designed by Copich & Associates Architects.
