Acella Construction Completes the 7th Laboratory Renovation at Northeastern
University
NORWELL, Mass. (Jan. 23, 2008)—Acella Construction Corporation, one of New
England's leading construction services firms, announced today that it
recently completed its 7th laboratory renovation at Northeastern University
in the last 12 months.
"The Nanoscale Characterization Lab (Engineering) and Heterogeneous
Materials & Muiltiscale Mechanics Lab (Engineering) Lab in Forsyth Hall are
two of the most complex and recently completed projects located at
Northeastern University's Main Campus in Boston," said Saul Schrader,
project manager at Acella Construction. "These renovations consisted of
completely demolishing 2 existing laboratory spaces on the second floor and
refinishing the spaces with an extensive upgrade to the buildings mechanical
system to support the new laboratory equipment. This required careful
coordination of work in other occupied areas of the building that was
completed around busy class schedules, all while trying to maintain the
original construction schedule."
Other recently completed Laboratory Renovation projects at Northeastern
University include the Soils & Concrete Lab in the basement of the Snell
Engineering Building, the Protein Dynamics (Biology Chemistry) Lab on the
4th floor of Mugar Hall, the Electrochemistry Lab in the basement of Mugar
Hall, the Protein Science Lab (Chemistry) and the Fuel Cell Research Lab on
the 4th Floor of Hurtig Hall.
"These are just some of many projects we have worked on for Northeastern
University," added Mr. Schrader. "We have built a lasting relationship with

state-of-the art facilities for their students."
