Acella Construction Completes 28,000 SF Retail Shell in Westerly, RI

NORWELL, Mass.-Acella Construction Corporation, one of New England's leading construction services firms, specializing in construction management, general contracting, design-build, and pre-construction services, has completed the construction of a 28,000-square-foot retail shell in Westerly, RI.

The Westerly Crossing Retail Shell, which is owned by Carpionato Properties, Inc., a Johnston, RI-based real estate development company, was completed with a competitive six-month schedule. The complex foundations were completed in the winter allowing the project's completion, including paving and landscaping to be coordinated with adjacent projects. The 28,000-square-foot new building includes structural steel, masonry façade, an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS) and an aluminum storefront, which is currently planned for five tenants, which will include an Olympia Sports.

“Our competitive six-month schedule proved to be an exciting challenge for our team,” said Robert Johnson, president of Acella Construction. “With construction continuing on through the winter we made sure that our project stayed on schedule and focused on optimal results.”

Acella worked in conjunction with design team RGB Architecture, Engineering and Design, a Providence, RI-based firm.
